Grading explained

Four grades, applied by one person, to the same standard every time. The grade is a summary — the photographs are the record.

EXExcellent

Worn a handful of times at most. No creasing you would notice at arm’s length, soles barely marked, no repairs. The closest a second-hand pair gets to unworn.

VGVery Good

Worn and cared for. Light creasing, faint marks, sole wear under a quarter. No structural damage, no odour, no repairs.

GDGood

Visibly worn and honest about it. Creasing, scuffs and sole wear are present and photographed. Everything is intact and wearable daily.

WWWell-Worn

Heavily worn. Significant creasing, marks and sole wear, possibly a small repair — always photographed and captioned. Priced accordingly.

What the grade does not cover

Nothing. Anything the grade does not tell you, the condition photographs do. Every pair carries close-ups of its worst areas with a plain caption saying what you are looking at. If a flaw is not photographed, it is not there.

If a pair does not match its photos

Return it within three days of delivery and the price is refunded in full. That is the whole policy — it exists because the photographs are the promise.
